Jason D. Guerra obtains defense verdict in St. Louis County on behalf of a trucking company in a lawsuit brought by a former employee alleging wrongful termination and wrongful withholding of wages. The company withheld certain amounts from plaintiff’s wages based on a prior child support lien, which plaintiff claimed was improper. Plaintiff’s employment with the company subsequently ended due to unrelated circumstances. Plaintiff claimed that he was wrongfully terminated and entitled to damages. The trucking company claimed that plaintiff left his employment voluntarily. On May 14, 2014, a judgment was entered in favor of the trucking company on all claims.
