Brad Young, Chairman of the Workers’ Compensation practice at Roberts Perryman presented on the topic of ‘Workers Compensation Reform- Updates for Missouri & Illinois’ at the 2011 Missouri Claims Manager’s Fall Seminar on October 6-7. Brad is regularly asked to present on legislative updates and reform issues for Missouri and Illinois in regard to Work Comp. Brad assisted in the 2005 Workers Comp Reform Act in Missouri.
As Brad compared and contrasted Missouri and Illinois Workers’ Comp reform to fifty plus Claims Managers, he offered the following analogy, “Missouri Workers’ Comp reform is analogous to the Cardinals – uplifting, produces joy in the heart. Simply put it’s a winner! Illinois Workers’ Comp reform is not really reform other than reducing the medical fee schedule. Illinois reform is more like the St. Louis Rams. It’s a loser.”
